Fujitsu laptops can be quite important for different people nowadays especially when they are using these gadgets for work. Because people with Fujitsu laptops are almost always on the go, it isn’t rare for these gadgets to get damaged accidentally. That’s where the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection comes in. But is it worth it?
In my opinion, Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection is not worth it. While it might be good for you to be able to have an insurance plan for your laptop, the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection has pretty bad options. And the worst part is that the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection is quite expensive.
Having accidental damage protection for your Fujitsu laptop might be a good idea because of how you will never know when you will be needing repairs for accidental damages. However, when you look at the offers that Fujitsu offers you for the steep price tag it comes with, then you will understand why we believe that Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection is not worth it.
What does Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection cover?
It isn’t rare for anyone owning a Fujitsu laptop to figure themselves into situations where these computers get damaged by accident. Of course, Fujitsu laptops are important for those who own them because they are most likely used for work and for other similar purposes. So, if you don’t want to lose important files and data, being able to get your Fujitsu laptop fixed at zero costs can be a good idea as you no longer have to incur out-of-pocket costs that can be expensive.
This is where the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection comes in. It does sound a good idea for you to have some sort of insurance on your laptop but you also have to understand that there are some accidental damage protection packages that don’t seem to be worth it depending on what they cover. That’s why we need to look at what Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection offers.
Here are the things that Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection covers:
- Liquid spilled on or in the unit by accident and not on purpose.
- Drops, falls, and other collisions that happened on accident.
- Electrical surges that can suddenly happen.
- Damaged or broken LCD due to drop or fall
- Accidental breakage
So, with the exception of the damaged or broken LCD due to drop or fall, Fujitsu will either replace or repair your unit if it is covered by the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection.
However, here are some of the things that Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection does not cover:
- Damaged in a fire
- Intentional damage (hammer marks)
- Toxic or contaminate spill
- Normal wear (does not affect system performance)
- Accessories (batteries, pens, AC Adapters, etc)
- Terrorism / War
- Unauthorized attempts to repair the unit
From there, you can see that the things that aren’t covered by the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection are quite wide in comparison to the things that it does cover. As such, this is where you can begin to wonder whether or not it is actually worth it for you to buy this package.
How much does Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection cost?
Another way for you to determine whether or not Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection is actually worth it is to look at the cost of the package. After all, you will be weighing the pros and cons along with the price of the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection so that you will truly know whether or not it is worth it.
So, while you do need to have a Fujitsu laptop or gadget to know how much the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection is, we do have a typical price for this product. And the price is at a whopping and shocking $558 for three years. This means that, even though it does cover three years, the price tag is too high when compared to all of the other accidental damage protection packages that some brands offer.
Is Fujitsu accidental damage protection worth it?
Now that you know what Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection covers and how much this package is going to cost, we will now begin to assess whether or not it is actually worth it, especially in 2021 when laptops are easily replaceable with newer models.
The sad truth is that, with a price tag of about $558, the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection seems too expensive for anyone even if you may be using an expensive Fujitsu laptop. And we are not basing our verdict on the cost of the package but also on the coverage of the entire accidental damage protection package.
If you look at the things that the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection covers, it covers typical accidents that you see in other competing brands as well. It’s also great that Fujitsu will either repair or replace the entire unit depending on whether or not it is still repairable. However, the things that the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection are also pretty vast to the point that any one of those things that are not covered can actually happen due to an accident as well.
So, if you merely look at the things that the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection covers and does not cover, you may be swayed to think that it can still be worth it if it comes at a pretty good price. However, the steep price tag of $558 is a little bit too much. If the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection had pretty good coverage, we would have believed that the price tag is actually good. But because the coverage is merely subpar at best, then the price tag is too expensive and not worth it at all.
Does Fujitsu extended warranty cover accidental damage?
Another sad thing about the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection is that it doesn’t come with the Fujitsu extended warranty. You would have to buy the Fujitsu Accidental Damage Protection separately if you want to take advantage of this insurance for your laptop.
